RPCS3 began development in May of 2011 by its founders, DH and Hykem. RPCS3 is an experimental open-source Sony PlayStation 3 emulator and debugger written in C for Windows and Linux. It’s hardware accelerator and dual processor could run ports that were very similar to that of the original PlayStation 2 versions (Persona 3, Grand Theft Auto), while the graphical capabilities of the DS, its rival were similar to those of the Nintendo 64 and PS1. The PSP was the first of such devices to compare well to the memory capacity and graphical abilities of the sixth-generation consoles (original Xbox, Gamecube, PS2). Playstation Portable or also known as PSP was a great advancement in the world of handheld gaming devices.
