In association to antipyretic medication they appeal to non-pharmacological intervention, the most used is the decrease in the amount of clothes. The antipyretic medication is the preferred intervention of the majority of the parents. Most use electronic thermometer in association with touch to assess fever, consider values under 38✬ as fever and 31.2% assume to give antipyretics with values between 37✬ and 37.8✬. Results: our sample comprises 145 parents, aged between 21 and 47 years old, 46.9% had a degree. Data collection by questionnaire in the north of Portugal. Methods: Quantitative, exploratory and descriptive study with a convenience sample. Objective: to analyse parents’ knowledge and practices in managing fever symptoms in their children under six years. Introduction: fever is one of the most common symptoms in childhood and one of complaints and most common reasons in demand for health services by the parents.
